Soft Washing for Glen Mills Church

As a professional in the power washing industry, I recently had the opportunity to work on an exciting project at Valley Point Church in Glen Mills, PA. The church had been facing some common exterior maintenance issues: years of built-up dirt, algae, and organic growth on their Dryvit/EIFS stucco, clogged and discolored gutters, and cobwebs around the entranceway that had seen better days. It was time for a good, thorough cleaning, and that’s exactly what we delivered.

When I arrived, it was easy to see that the exterior of the church had taken a beating from the weather over the years. The stucco was covered in algae and mildew, which is pretty common in Glen Mills due to the area's humidity. The gutters were also in need of some care, with organic buildup along the outside, making them look worn down.
The entrance to the church was also looking a little tired, with cobwebs and debris gathered around the doorways and corners. This is the first thing people see when they arrive, so it was important to restore it to a warm and inviting state.

Soft Washing Process

For this project, soft washing was the way to go. It’s a gentle method that works wonders for delicate surfaces like the Dryvit/EIFS stucco, which can be easily damaged by high-pressure washing. We applied a low-pressure cleaning solution to the stucco that’s safe and eco-friendly, breaking down the algae and mildew without harming the building.
Next, we tackled the gutters using the same soft washing approach. Watching the dirt and buildup wash away, revealing clean gutters underneath, was so satisfying. It’s amazing how much of a difference clean gutters can make in the overall look of a building.
Finally, we cleaned up the entranceway, removing cobwebs and debris. A clean, welcoming entrance really changes the whole feel of a place, and I wanted to make sure that everyone walking through those doors felt welcomed.

Incredible Results

After we finished, the exterior of Valley Point Church looked like new again. The stucco was spotless, free of algae and mildew, and the gutters were clear and functional once more. The entrance, now free of cobwebs, was refreshed and inviting. It was great to see the church looking so vibrant and ready to welcome its congregation again.
